"Make it happen"-With Casey Drake Makes
Feeling worn out during the Pandemic? Tired of the same monotonous routine and everyday feels the same? Well you are not alone! But during this time, some more than others, has found a way to make the best out of these unprecedent times...
As pictured above, a wife, mom, and teacher, who goes by the name Casey Drakes Makes, made the best of her time during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020 by finding something fun to do with her children that she enjoyed herself. From Florida and resides in Orlando she majored in Biology and was a Bio teacher for some years. Once Casey became a mother, she learned that it was going to cost her more time and money raising children. The Pandemic was the icing on the cake! Casey began going outside and using chalk to draw beautiful pictures for her children. She had no idea of how popular her art would become.
Casey's initial intent was to find something to do and get her mind off of COVID. (We all got tired of that). Later, she was recognized by her neighbor who shared it on Fb and eventually the news station! Before she knew it, her artwork was shared more than 40,000 times! She was featured on CBS, nickelodeon, Jimmy come alive, and more.
Casey's motivation was initially through her art and now it has transitioned into a possible career for her. Casey believes her artwork began to bring comedy and laughter and ultimately joy during the weird months of the beginning of the Pandemic. Casey learned that seeing others happy is an fulfillment within itself and so she continues to bring light out of every situation, challenge, obstacles that comes her way. Casey learned to prioritize what is most important and making sure to fulfill her happiness as well.
Although Casey do not give herself the props she deserves, she remains humble and is willing to continue to spread her love through art in the DMV area.
Casey tells the people: "To start with something, don't worry about it being perfect! Just put it out there"
